Anything Goes Happy Hour – Episode #10

In this latest episode, we’re featuring interviews and live video performances from Laguna legends Beth and Steve Wood from the iconic So Cal surf band Honk. Then hearing the latest from local radio personality (Laguna Talks on KXFM), newspaper columnist and engaged community activist Billy Fried, and finally Grace Freeman, a young lady singer-songwriter that has already written well over 100 original gems. The show will be interspersed with our latest roundup of great poems, the moving CV-19 Music Videos and more.

Steve & Beth Fitchet Wood

This multi-talented couple are renowned singer-songwriters, musicians, composers, and producers. Their main influences are in the folk, pop, musical theatre, jazz, and rock ‘n roll genres. They were both in the Southern California band “Honk” in the early seventies, who released three albums and toured nationally with Loggins and Messina, Chicago, and the Beach Boys. After Honk, Beth played in just about every conceivable musical format, in most kinds of venues. Today they are also both key members of the 133 Band. In addition, Beth has accompanied her husband Steve on his worldwide production adventures for Sony Classical, striving to make herself useful at concerts he produced at the Colosseum in Rome, and Central Park in New York (with their son Nate!), and has been fortunate to assist at recording sessions with some of the best new tenors of our time. In 2005, she was production assistant for Steve’s Greek IMAX soundtrack, “Greece – Secrets Of The Past”, which featured 5 of the biggest Greek recording stars. She also co-wrote the title track for the IMAX film “Hurricane On The Bayou”.

Billy Fried

Billy Fried is a serial funtrepreneur. He has launched a clothing line, a magazine, an advertising agency, an activities company, and a couple of travel websites. He’s also a serial storyteller. He hosts Laguna Talks, a weekly radio talk show on KX93.5, and pens a bi-weekly opinion column for the Laguna Beach Independent. Additionally, Billy is Founder and Chief Resonance Officer of La Vida Laguna, an experiential team-building company focused on group actualization. He speaks to teams large and small about performance optimization, leadership, and gratitude as a business practice. When he’s not talking, he’s playing drums or blues harmonica.

Grace Freeman

Grace Freeman is a hugely talented, unique singer-songwriter. Don’t be fooled by her young age, an old soul channels through her. Anti-folk and Jazz have been terms used to describe her, but her music transcends simplistic labels.
