Summer Solstice | The Black Tongued Bells Concert
Time & Location
About the Event
Hello, Friends of BC Space Gallery - now Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center.
Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center will hold a Summer Solstice event on Saturday evening, June 19.
The evening will be a double celebration—of the start of summer and of the life of Mark Chamberlain.
It will include a pre-concert gathering from 6:30 to 8, celebrating Mark’s amazing life, with a video about Mark, followed by brief remembrances about his life by attendees. (Please email Rick Conkey at Rick@LBCulturalArtsCenter.org if you would like to present a remembrance of Mark’s life.)
The evening will also include performances—beginning at 8 PM—by the amazing Black Tongued Bells, along with openers, Brother Yusef, and poet Patrick Ohslund. The band will present American Swamp Music, a steamy gumbo of gothic-gospel juju, hopped-up rock & roll, and dirt-pounding juke joint blues.
Refreshments will be provided.
Attendees are encouraged—but not required— to purchase a ticket, or make a tax-deductible donation of $30.00 to attend the event, which is estimated to cost the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center $2,000.00 to pay for the band and refreshments.
The Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
